tooltip mouseover

Hi,

Using the mouse over tooltip does not seem to give good results whenever the mouse is over a point. It works well when the mouse is over a linestring or polygon. I have discovered that for points the mouse has to be brought to the center of the point icon for the tooltip to show. Can the sensitivity be increased  ? whereby all that is required is for the mouse to hover over any part of the icon for the tooltip to appear ? this will be more desireable.
